Alaska: Anchorage Borough

In the Anchorage Borough, Native American and African American youth are overrepresented in juvenile detention facilities. In 2001, Native American youth represented 8% of the overall youth population, but 28% of youth in detention. African American youth represented 7% of the overall youth population, but 16% of youth in detention.
