Massachusetts: Bristol County

In Bristol County, African American, Latino and Asian youth are overrepresented in juvenile detention facilities. In 2002, African American youth represented 2.4% of the overall youth population, but 15.2% of youth in detention. Latino youth represented 5.4% of the overall youth population, but 13.6% of youth in detention. Asian youth represented 1.8% of the overall youth population, but 3.1% of youth in detention.
