Minnesota: Anoka County

In Anoka County, African American and Native American youth are overrepresented in juvenile detention facilities. In 2002, African American youth represented 3% of the overall youth population, but 12% of youth in detention. Native American youth represented 1% of the overall youth population, but 4% of youth in detention.
