Minnesota: Hennepin County

In Hennepin County, African American and Native American youth are overrepresented juvenile detention facilities. In 2002, African American youth represented 14% of the overall youth population, but 56% of youth in detention. Native American youth represented 1% of the overall youth population, but 9% of youth in detention.
