Texas: Travis County

In Travis County, African American and Latino youth are overrepresented in juvenile detention facilities. In 2002, African American youth represented 13% of the overall youth population, but 30% of youth in detention. Latino youth represented 38% of the overall youth population, but 50% of youth in detention.
