Ophelia Williams, Program Manager, CJNY
Ophelia Williams received her Bachelor of Arts degree from San Francisco State University in Liberal Studies. She comes from a low-income environment where opportunities and resources were very limited. Through the encouragement and support of her mentors, family, and friends, she is the first person in her family to receive a college degree. Although she plans to attend law school in the future, she feels that she is exactly where she wants to be now - working to give back to her community. It is with extreme gratitude that she begins her work, in the juvenile justice field, with a national non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing community based programs that are committed to serving poor youth of color who have been targeted by a failing system. As we enter a time with so many crises surrounding our everyday lives, Ophelia remains strong in her ability to press forward in her commitment to make positive change through her dedication to the mission of the CJNY. |
